That wasn't a fight that was an assault if he'd done that and the street he'd be looking at 6 months inside.
and the TJ who said Ashton threw a punch aswell haha he must of been a southern softy if he thought that push was a punch.
You can break people's legs today and get away with a fine. Ashton took a few bad ones there and you would expect a proper level of discipline dished out.

In fairness, the citing system in Yawnion is usually top notch.
The fact that the TJ got it completely wrong and then it was shown on the big screen seconds later makes you wonder why when they are all mic'd up the ref didnt ask the VR to take a look at the incident if he had it would of been a straight red and i doubt Ashton would of been sin binned. Hopefully it will be sorted out by the RFU and then it can be moved on from. I follow both codes and that was something I would never expect to see on a rugby pitch. That 3rd punch was thrown with intent to harm, if it had landed on the temple instead of above his eye we could of seen a major injury. Tuilagi has hopefully lost his place in the final, any chance of playing in the world cup and miss the start of next season.

He didn't leave to "better himself".
He left because he was earning £12k plus bonuses as a junior member of the squad, covering at fullback.
Northampton threw £70k at him and he snatched their hands off.
Wigan (quite rightly) refused to pay anywhere near that amount for a kid with nothing more than potential at that time.
Personally, I couldn't care less about anythin he does in RU, although at least it sounds like there was something to get excited about in this match for a change.

Can't blame the lad for bettering himself and becoming a nationwide Star, something which would never have happened had he stayed at Wigan!
Whilst you can't. It was the way he did it. However he failed to show comitment to the club for the remainder of his term.....he couldn't wait to leave and his performances were rank awful. (See Kyle Eastmond).
In addition he then went out and got himself photographed wearing a Northampton shirt when he had 7 months of his contract left at Wigan.

Couldn't of said it better myself, I might be a Wigan fan but I'am also a fan of both codes. Ashton made a move that was best for him and will set himself up for a better future. He's the face of Nike rugby would that of ever happened for him in league??? Tbh he'd probably of had to buy his own boots and his own training gear at the time he broke into the team, as I believe it was in Radders book that he says things were like that at the club at that time. Plus all you ever get on here is people saying he wasn't good enough for league and was weak in defence fair play to him for going to a code that suits his skill set better.
