There is a good chance that you might get held up for at least an hour if you are going to the match on Sunday. Well you will if you decide to call in to the Rugby League Heritage Centre. It is located in the basement of the George Hotel about one hundred yards from the Huddersfield railway station. The Centre has a rare collection of rugby league memorabilia, ancient caps, jerseys and boots, valuable medals and trophys, old programmes, newspaper cuttings and digitised century old photo graphs. This is a unique visitor attraction that charts the progress of the game in a user friendly format that appeals to fans of all ages. You will also see a collection of over 200 framed prints in the hotel's public area on the walls leading down to this purpose built exhibition room. Admission is free and behind the counter on the left hand side as you walk in, is a collection of some of the most recently published books, novels, magazines, DVDs, and RLHC tee shirts and pens to buy and in good time for Father's Day too. Enjoy your visit. Tom Platt did, a long time ago though.
Visit //www.geofflee.net for details of my novels 'One Winter', 'One Spring', 'One Summer' 'One Autumn' 'Two Seasons'. and "Three Good Years" All six feature Rugby League against a humourous Lancashire/Yorkshire background and are inspired by the old saying about work: "They could write a book about this place. It would be a best seller."
