Post subject:  Giants Welcome the Lions
The recently formed Giants Supporters Association cordially invite the Lions supporters to pre-match drinks and banter at Turnbridge WMC on St Andrew's Road. This is approximately a 5 minute walk to the ground.

For those with a taste for proper beer, there is draught beer on sale.

And for those with deep pockets, it's free to get in!

You'll also be welcome to commiserate in there afterwards. :wink: :wink:

Thank you for that warm invite Ivor, sadly I can't make it but i am sure a few of our loyal band will.
Incidentally your thread is not being ignored on purpose it's just that most Swinton postings happen on TotalRL.com where incidentally there are some very good photos of our old Station Rd ground as today marks the 20th anniversary of our last ever match played there before it was stolen and sold by a band of theives called directors.

I always thought the final game was against Huddersfield at Station Road but a quick internet search shows it was Salford. I was at the Hudds game that year, must have been the last time we would have been able to play you then.
I remember we all went onto the pitch after the game and the Swinton fans came across, shook hands and thanked us for coming. Great day for us, I think we won but a sad day for Swinton fans and one I've never forgotten. A great club with a great history. Hope you enjoy yourselves on Sunday.
