Good luck to him. He has been a fantastic servant for the club. He may not have the most talent in the world but I remember the dark days of 2005/6 and how I just would've been happy to see total commitment and passion from the team and I'd have killed for a Willie Isa. He has given it absolutely everything, for every second of his time here.

Takes the gloss off the Farrell announcement a little.

Wonderful servant to the club and rugby league. Always felt it was unrealistic for him to make it back, but it looks like he was ready to go, which highlights how tough and committed he is.

Big hole to fill in the squad from a leadership point of view.

Few tougher players have taken the field in a Wigan shirt.

i was completely underwhelmed when he signed but he has turned out to be a great signing, a real workhorse, and and has been well worth his time here

Good luck Willie!

Shame that - thought he would have a great swansong this year. Best wishes to him - a great pro.

Spoke to Willie tonight and he told me he would have been fit to play in the first game of the season. Sadly for us, but great for him, he has been given an opportunity outside the sport that he couldn’t turn down. Good luck to him, he will always be an adopted Wiganer. The young lads will miss him.

He's played a big part in shaping who Wigan are as a club. Every club needs players like Willie who live and breathe the standards the team aspire to - not many have them, which makes him such an important part in where we are now.

Good luck to him, sounds like it must be a great opportunity to make him want to move away.

Good luck Willie with your new opportunity

As many have said, a great team member who is hard as nails. Maybe not the most gifted player, but 100% every single week when he pulled on the shirt, and as fans thats all we can ask for. I'd put him up in the Dean Bell tough as teak class (but not quite as gifted :) )
