Didn’t even realise until it was said but we’ve gone 5 hours without conceding a try. In the business end of the season that’s amazing, we have strike players who can win games but defence like that is unreal. |

Sky had handed Wire the GF before the playoffs due to their amazing defence |

It felt like an end-to-end contest and that at any moment, Rovers could break through and score. But rewatching the game today, it's much more obvious that Rovers were finding it harder and harder to deal with Wigan's defence. It's probably not incorrect to say that in the second half, they never looked like scoring. |

I thought the Keighran tackle on Broadbent (where they got their penalty) summed up the whole defensive effort these past few weeks and the lift in attitude of refusing to let their line be broken. It was a beauty and completed in what felt the only way of stopping him scoring. That was from a player who I wouldn't say is renowned for his defence and if he's doing that, you know you're in a great place. |
