Sounded nasty on the radio, hope he gets well soon

Quote:The Warriors lost Willie Isa through injury in the first half, and providing an update on the experienced second rower, Peet said: “He’s dislocated and broken an area in his lower leg. He needs an x-ray tonight to find out the extent.”

Didn't look good, been a while since I've seen people turn away from an injury. He was more concerned with trying to find out who did it than the fact that it happened.

Yes best wishes to him. The lack of posts about the actual game indicates how little there is to say - a complete mismatch between the champions and a poor, injury ravaged side so the seriousness of the Isa injury is the big takeaway. Hope we see him again later in the year but it doesn't sound good. He's been really solid for us in the last couple of months (as ever).

Junior Nsemba will likely have a run there now with Walters coming into the mix soon.

Looked horrible from the away end. Surely a very serious injury. He seemed fuming trying to work out who did it to him.

I’m worried that’ll be the end of his season and potential his Wigan career. He’s been a warrior for us.

Sadly the show must go on and rotation of Nsemba and Walters is a good replacment.

I think if it as bad as it sounds it could be end of his career. At his age doesn’t sound great. Really feel for him as over the years he’s been an unsung hero for us. Hopefully can get fit and come back for back end of the year or get him on for next year

Gutted for him but it’s early in the season so hopefully he can get back before the season ends, he’s far from the best player in the squad but his attitude, engine and defence is great, you need dependable players like Isa who are not stars but punch above their salary (guessing he’s one of the lesser paid senior players) and can be depended on in a salary capped sport.

Fracture dislocation so it is as bad as we thought.

Gutted for him, one of my favourite players and it’s going to be very challenging for him to get back from this.

Willie Isa is so underrated. His engine and commitment in defence is unreal, he's been a stalwart of our pack for eight years and I'll miss watching him play. I can't see him returning, 35 years old in what was most likely his last season, I'm expecting his retirement to be announced within the next few days. Thankfully, Wigan are a club that will look after a loyal servant like Isa who deserved to be lifting the silverware again at the end of the season.

Gutted for him, I hope he recovers well and swifty.

The tackle went on report. It was obvious that Willie thought it was illegal. If I could back anybody in the squad to comeback from that injury it would be him. Fingers crossed that he gets the chance to wear the famous colours at least one more time.

Expecting a retirement announcement is probably a little premature.

There’s no doubt it’s a bad one but they will need time to assess the damage and a potential recovery timeframe first.

I genuinely hope it was an accident.

For us, this will give game time to Nsemba and open a place for him and Walters to play for. As much as I like Isa and respect what he has accomplished those two offer a greater attacking threat and are the future.
