It might be me but they are a level or 2 below what they they where last season e.g. they have shown a few moments of brilliance but nothing special. And Leigh could have beaten them last night! I think the loss of 2 of there best Props for the season have blown there chance of regaining the GF again. They have gone the season only just beating teams where in the past they would have put 50 or 60 past them! :READING:

Absolutely nothing to fear. They look bang average without Walmsley ans Paasi. Two man team. The 'world class' Welsby who really isn't that good (What exactly is it that he does that a regular full back can't? He certainly hasn't got the ability of a Field or French, just an annoying little runt) and the rest of the side is coming up to collecting their bus passes. This season is their last chance of silverware. They have left it far too late for a re-build.

Agree, dont forget Knowles who in some opinion is so much better than our Morgan.
They are like a old fighter on the way down ,fighting dirty to stay where they are but aging and getting more cantankerous as they dont get their own way anymore.

Leigh deserved to win and were unlucky not to get that try in the last few mins as that would have brought them right back.
Wigan have nothing to fear from stains and our forwards will absolutely muller theirs, and our backs will out think and out pace theirs. (I fear Leeds more).

You have to admire their line speed and competitive spirit. I don’t think they are as good as previous seasons and agree they are not to be feared.

They should be respected and are more than callable of winning the comp.

Got a bit lucky last night though. Hopefully they’ll use all that luck up before the playoffs

I loved that line speed of Percy, they are offside so many times a game they might aswell be in the defensive line of the opposition.

I remember you making similar comments last year Jason after the CC semi final. They aged well didn’t they.

Still favourites IMO, especially when Sironen and Hurrell come back in.

Stu, I always rate your opinion; you're always honest and balanced. Do you think this may be Saints' last chance for a while to win it?

I agree to an extent with Jason, they look an ageing team, and Leigh last night (even without their main cog, Asiata) opened them up numerous times and should have won, even with the lack of ball/territory.

One thing I will say though is, Saints' defence when they are in that mood is fearsome, particularly when sides are coming out of their own half. You can't go one out against them that's for sure!

No doubt this is the final year of this side. We are ageing and busted and there’s a big rebuild ahead. We’ve got some outstanding youngsters coming through but they won’t be ready in the next 1-2 years.

Last night was played at a high intensity in very muggy conditions. We were clunky in attack and Welsby was very quiet. To see him described as average on here is laughable though based on last night. Our defence was outstanding in the main and Leigh threw a lot at us. We lost Delaney to a HIA early 2nd half and didn’t give Royle a minute (not sure why) so the forwards did it tough 2nd half.

If Sironen, Hopoate and Hurrell can come back and stay fit we may just have 2-3 big games left in us.

As good as Wigan have looked recently they were poor against Hull in the rain. Grand Finals normally are played in the wet and we have the game plan to play in a big tight game when the ball isn’t thrown around.

Wigan are the form team at the moment no question and would probably start favourites against us but we have a lot of big game players. It’s just if we can squeeze some final energy out of them.
