Maybe I’ve just not noticed in the past but the amount of hamstring surgeries seems to have been high for us in the last few seasons. In days gone by you heard ‘hamstring injury’ and just automatically thought it would be a few weeks.

Presumably it’s the season for him but they haven’t said that in the press release. It’s been one of those years in the prop department. We’ve not had our best 3 on the field together since Good Friday.

Gutting this.

I know every team has injuries but if we had Cooper, Havard, Ellis, Dupree and Byrne/Mago our pack would have been pretty dominate.

Get the vibe they hope he could be back for the playoffs by not outright saying he’s done for the year.

There is a slim chance he could be back before the end of the season.

Incidentally there seems to be an increase in hamstrings across most clubs which they are looking into. Some suggestions are that the 3G training pitches are to blame.

As it's needed an operation you'd imagine that's pushing it, a recurrence two minutes into a knockout game would be a disaster but you never know

Suppose it depends on the make up of the team. He didn't give Harvie Hill a single minute in the cup semi, so if he's that reluctant to use a youngster and we'd be going in to a play off game with either a youngster on the bench or taking a risk with Havard, he may feel Havard is less of a gamble. There may be similar talk about Willie Isa at some point as well. They did not rule him out for the season either.

Peet has confirmed both Havard and Isa could make the last couple of games but it will be extremely tight by the sounds of things.
