I'd take this allegation more seriously, but then I remember Phil saying how Shaun Wane had only won a couple of Grand Finals because Wigan had spent more money than anyone else.

Bit of an oddball, our Phil, these days.

I'm not sure I can believe that any team would willingly concede penalty after penalty near their own line in order to 'slow the opposition down'.

I commented when watching it live that they were lying on a fair bit. But any smart team would do that if they were getting away with it. The subjectivity in the application of the rules is the sport's biggest weakness.

Ian Watson is right in saying that Huddersfield are nearly there but they'll have to hope that Lolohea, Fages and Connor can provide that cutting edge when they're all fit.

He’s right in a way but quite controversial wording. Him and Wilkin are a right pair.

There’s no doubt they are and have been for some time pushing the rules to the limit. I wouldn’t be too concerned about that, teams in competitive sport have done and will continue to do that for as long as competitive sport exists. It’s just the way it is and like it or not it won’t change.

It’s up to the law makers to clamp down on teams who use spoiling tactics to the detriment of the spectacle. I quite admire their ability and confidence to defend set after set on their line all be it whilst crossing the limit of the rules regularly.

The one that really winds me up is Walmsley, I don’t know why he feels the need to push forward a yard or two every time his tackled then act surprised that there is a marker in the way and appeal to the ref.

I think we need to look at the 6 again rule, 1st or 2nd tackle should be a penalty. Three in a short period of time should be a sin bin.

He’s gone a bit too specific with it but he is right. He should have just left it at ‘from the day Woolf came in, Saints have pushed every rule and every bit of sportsmanship to the limit’ and that would’ve covered things.

Good on Phil Clarke rocking the fashion from the last time Wigan were relevant, wearing turtle necks
