My suggestion for anybody who wants to keep mentally healthy, is to write a novel based loosely on their own life and times, one that should include stories based on the lives of themselves, their relatives, neighbours and work mates and also from their own connections with the world of rugby league.
Many people tell me that they would love to do this but would not even know how to start it. With them in mind, in addition to my having written six novels based on my experiences as a rugby league fan since 1947, I have also written three pages of general advice on how it can be done.
