Rumoured this morning that Lam is leaving at the end of the season with Matty Peet taking over and Wane (as discussed on here) to move upstairs.
Now I’ve nothing against Matty Peet, I barely know what he’s achieved in all honesty, but that’s the problem. Not many will. Not many care either as it’s not a “top drawer” coaching appointment. In effect what we’re doing is giving an unproven (at first team level) coach a chance which is what Championship and L1 clubs do. I am aware that SW was in a similar boat when he took the job but he had been Mags’ assistant in a very good and successful side plus had 20+years coaching at the club so it’s not entirely the same.
He may be an absolute revelation but there’s equal chance he won’t be too. I’m not criticising him here and I hope my post doesn’t read that way but more so the club. It’s done on the cheap. Which for a club like ours whom demands success, especially when you look at Warrington’s investments, just isn’t good enough. It’s hardly going to inspire the 6/7k lost back to watch in 2022.
It goes without saying I back Peet to succeed and I hope he does and this post just becomes mute but I don’t think I’ll be alone in my concerns.

Isn’t the rumour that Rads (and to a lesser extent Lenagan) is the main man responsible for signings? If so then your list possibly backs up that he needs to give up that particular task and if the rumours on Wane are true maybe he’s done that. I wonder if Wane has had a hand in the Mago, Ellis and Miski signings? He certainly would seem to have had the time to do plenty of homework on them.
I know others won’t agree but I’d put Smith in the good category. He was the exact calming and organised half we needed at the time and his partnership with Green worked very well. Greenwood should have been good but we all know why that didn’t happen and Hamlin also.
There’s a question mark against Flower but other than the 2014 GF brain fart he was a superb acquisition for us.

Yeah that is fair. I think Wane said before that Rads handled all signings but surely Wane would have an input on them? I remember a thread on here at the time with most people struggling to believe Wane had no involvement in signing players.
