How under rated was Mick Cassidy? He was a great player but almost totally forgotten when we talk about the great players of the past. His work rate was immense and he did all the hard work that went unnoticed a lot of the time. |

Yep, and I'll chuck Ian Potter and Sam Panapa into the mix. Just got on with it, and did it well. |

Cassidy was just one of those players that did things other players didn’t want to do. Where he may not have been physically as gifted as others his toughness and mental toughness and work ethic were what made him as a player. Never looked out of place regardless of who he played with. Agree with Potter and Panapa too although I think Sam did have that but of extra natural talent to make him the player he was too. It was only last week when I found out he had 2 spells at Sheffield prior to signing for Wigan after noticing him in an old team photo one of my mates who also played there with him posted on social media. I asked him about Sam and he said he was unplayable at that level. |

One of the things I always remember about Mick Cassidy was the match at Central Park when a opposing player committed a very bad offence on a young Wigan player. Mick took exception to his action and retribution against the offending player and then without waiting for the Referee to send him off walked off to the tunnel. He got a six match suspension for his sins! |

A similar role that Willie Isa is now performing. Every team needs those selfless players. |

Swift retribution. Got a 6-week ban and came back for the Grand Final, which we won. Legend. |

Cassidy drifted into deserved obscurity , Morley went to Australia and became an RL Great Now that's a Legend . |
