Adrian Lam names Wigan Warriors 19-man squad to face Hull FC in the Betfred Super League
Two changes as Leuluai and O’Loughlin return while Havard and Wells miss out
Hull FC vs Wigan Warriors, Thursday 1st August, KCOM Stadium, K.O. 7:45pm
Head Coach Adrian Lam has named the Wigan Warriors 19-man squad to face Hull FC on Thursday evening at the KCOM Stadium in the Betfred Super League (K.O. 7:45pm).
Last time Wigan faed Hull FC history was made with the game being decided by Golden point for the first time in Super League, the Warriors were on the losing side that day in March at the DW Stadium.
This Thursday’s game sees fourth (Wigan) face third (Hull FC) in what could prove to be a crucial two points for either side come the end of the 2019 Betfred Super League campaign.
Injury news
After a week away from competitive action, Wigan Warriors Head Coach Adrian Lam had plenty of positive news regarding players returning from injury to be available for selection vs Hull FC on Thursday.
Speaking to the media earlier this week Lam said, “We will have Joe Burgess back, Gildart will be 100% and Tommy Leuluai we will make a decision on later but fingers crossed he’s ok.
“Sean O’Loughlin is also coming back.”
Lam also highlighted a couple of first team players who remain doubts for Thursday’s game. He said, “Probably only Ben Flower (back) and Joe Greenwood (head injury) are the ones that are in doubt at the moment.”

The way it's been reading over the last week or two it appeared we'd be back to full strength, excluding the long term absentees. Clearly that's not the case at all. I wonder if there's been complications with Flower and Greenwood?

Flower told me he was aiming for the Hull game at the earliest. I understand his recovery is going very well but could be next week or the week after. He’s training again now. Not sure about Greenwood but he’s at the mercy of the specialist.

I'd go with that but I reckon Leuluai will start with Sammut on the bench.
And if anyones bothered it's Thaler with the whistle and Hicks pushing the No Try button :D

Good game and its great when you can reflect on the best players purely on skill rather than commitment, they all give it everything tonight (and the fans too!).

Didn't think we were clinical enough tonight with the ball but defensively tremendous. Marshall, Isa, Hardaker and Sarginson all put great stints in.

We're running out of senior forwards fast but the young forwards are giving it everything and don't have an ounce of fear. I think the lack of size and experience will ultimately hurt us but who knows.

Sheer effort win tonight but plenty to work on. I still look at the table and smile and I don’t feel too edgy watching games because it just feels that any spot in the top five will be a bonus when compared to our position of a few weeks back.
