He'll need to go some this Saturday to stand a chance.

Been anonymous so far in the series.

He's been SL man of steel so he should be in the running for it shouldn't he?

Is that how it works? Who got the Aussie version?

Thurston will walk it I'd imagine.

All the time that Sam Tomkins was ripping it up in Super League we were treated to weekly rumours of "will he go to the NRL/will he go to Union?". No such rumours about Zak. I suspect it is because of three reasons -
1. Leeds are better than Wigan at keeping their top players happy
2. He isn't a very good role model (possibly not that big a deal but it would put NRL clubs off) and
3. He isn't that special. As we have seen in the last two tests he is solid enough, but there is nothing in attack. Nothing to get excited about anyway.

4) He doesn't court publicity like Sam did. He doesn't give regular interviews to the RU press stating what he admires about RU, hinting that's he's interested in moving codes. He doesn't have his own TV show. Basically Sam was very interested in constantly trying to boost his own profile.

I think Ian Lenegan learnt a valuable lesson from the whole Tomkins saga ie don't let one player overshadow the club. something Gary Hetherington learnt many years before. I can very well imagine Ian Lenegan being very happy with Sam returning, probably on a smaller wage, with his tail between his legs.

Based on that logic Burgess and Hall are very mediocre wingers and Watkins has no attacking game at all. I'm not saying Zak's in the same league as Tomkins attack wise, but it's down to the utter dross being served up by our halves that he's not been able to offer much going forward.

I suspect GH would switch Hardaker's public profile to date, for that of Tomkins in a heartbeat....

Hardaker is in a play making role. I agree the halves have been poor. But so has Zak. No matter how bad Sam plays he always creates something for the wingers.

Just look at Josh Charnleys form these last two years. He's been nothing without Sam. If Sam played for Leeds, Hall would get thirty tries a season, no worries.
