Saturday 18th July.
From 1pm at Wigan St Judes ARLFC.
The Wigan Riversiders are hosting the annual summer party this season on Saturday 18th July, this year sees a different venue, and we shall be holding the party at our home venue of Wigan St Judes down at Parsons Meadow. This enables everyone to watch our double header of home games and get straight into the party atmosphere. Also it gives us chance to put something back into St Judes to thank them once again for there support over the summer months.
A brief outline and plan of the day is below:
1300 – GAME Riversiders Eels vs Huyton Bulldogs – Our second team are out for revenge in this Derby clash in the North West Merit League. The last time the sides met it was a resounding win for the enemy but our lads will be pumped to get revenge and get the day of to a winning start.
1430 – GAME Wigan Riversiders vs Runcorn Vikings – Again our first team will be out for revenge after losing the fixture between the sides earlier in the season. A game that many thought we should not have lost. This North West Conference clash promises to be a full blooded affair.
1630 – The Riversiders famous half drum BBQ will be lit and the food will be prepared by head chefs Dave Morton and Craig Hogan, after being marinated in Scott Whittle under armour for 6 weeks. A food delight not to be missed!!! If you have your own choice of food, please bring it along with and we shall throw in on the BBQ no worries. There should be an Australian influence in the BBQ with NSW lads Sharpy and Shaun who are sure to show us brits how to BBQ in style!!.
1730 – Local band “The Invisible Ducks” will be setting up and getting the music going for the next 3 hours. They will be playing music and at 1900 they will get into the live music, playing some classic covers along with a few of there own stuff thrown in for good measure.
After this we expect to have something very special indeed lined up, we are awaiting confirmation from James Fish Productions Ltd – Keep your eyes open for an announcement closer to the event day.
