Many in the NRL pretty much play with 2 fullbacks on the kick chase. The wing drops back so the fullback can distribute to him if needed. This tactic, if used, would release some of the impacts Tomkins would endure. |

He'd be the sort of front rower we need. |

Good point. With Roberts and Richards on the wings Sam would have cover from both wings when returning the ball. His link up in attack with the halves would be fantastic for the team allowing more attacking options and creativity. He has the speed to be a great support player and the step and movement to link up well in attack. |

A few seasons back, (mainly in his bulldog days) he was a cracking animal of a prop. But he isn't getting much game time at the moment and I don't know currently what standard he is at, if he comes, I just hope we get the O Meley from the Bulldogs not the O Meley from the Roosters. |

Agree if we are going for a stop gap signing i would have hoped for a level up from Fien, he is a good player but if we are looking for 2-3 seasons out of a player i would like us to look at the real cream of the crop and i think Fien just falls below this level. |

Fien isn't a million miles away from Tommy as a player anyway. |

He sure would. Excellent go forward takes no crap prop forward. I firmly believe that a player of his level would improve us 10 fold. |

Personally would prefer Mason or Webb he would be my third choice but I agree his or a player like his presence in the team would be one of the last pieces in the jigsaw. |
