I think there's been a few threads over the years in regards ideas of creating another Wigan RL monthly magazine like the ones produced in the mid-nineties that seemed to be popular.
I think we miss thoughts and articles from the club, players, coaches, ex-players etc and by creating a similar online magazine to this, it will cost alot less to produce yet may even attract sponsors like Saints have done with Land Rover.

It's a great idea and there isn't the initial outlay for print. They could roll it out as a freebie for a few months and then perhaps a nominal charge after that.
Saints really do lead the way when it comes to marketing their brand.

The charge however nominal will be where it falls down if it came to it. Online sign up would be better as some other sports do, that way they have a ready made marketing database for specific promotions. That in itself is much more market value than a weekly magazine. How much people would pay for an online magazine is debatable because in reality the stuff on there wouldn't really be much more than the stuff that's in the programme/local rags anyway. Sure it can be used as a soap box for the clubs pet projects, McManus included but beyond that it might quickly run out of promotional steam. The TRL forum almost died overnight when a nominal yearly charge was introduced, and if I'm not mistaken this has been recently reversed.
"Why, oh why people bring dogs to Rugby League games I'll never know".
I dont think that this has been set up as a money making venture at all by Saints - it is more of a strategic document aimed at the business community to attempt to portray the club as leading the strategic thinking in the game, and therefore as being the market leaders.
It is all about growing and improving the brand image within the business community and with the long term aim of bringing in more sponsors.
Good work from the Saints marketing team. We know Mick Hogan reads this forums so maybe an idea he can pick up on. I would 100% subscribe to something such as this.
