Post subject:  Style Of Rugby

Ever since the signing of Gleeson I have noticed a rapid change of our style of rugby. I dont want to jinx us but lately we are looking like a more exspansive team and are willing to pass the ball out wide to our centre & wingers and its starting to look like we are not afraid to pass the ball out wide. We tried to do this at Catalan but we made too many errors when the ball went out wide (Pryce). Im not saying we have perfected it far from it but its looking like Noble is getting the message out to the players to stop the boring rugby.

Maybe just maybe we have moved on from the boring rugby and into a new era of fluid rugby. Early doors yet but from our recent games since signing Gleeson we have looked a whole lot different in attack.

When Gleeson signed Noble mentioned him being another piece in the jigsaw in relation(loves that sentance) to our evolving style of play which said to me he's looking at making us that bit more expansive.

Maybe Nobby realises we can't keep bashing it up the middle when we have no props of note.

If he has realised it then it's not before time.

Most of our tries have been scored out wide this season, before and after Gleeson signing.

Yes but our powder puff pack still cannot dominate the oppositions.
For this reason games seem to hang in the balance until late on where we either have caved in and been defated or thown it wide and got a lucky break.

Our style of rugby is pass it out wide to Ainscough, nothing else seems to work to well. With a couple of good props we'd be right onto a winner.

For me, Tim Smith has the ability to throw some good, long and often looping passes to out centres and Martin Gleeson is a very good target for him. The Gleeson signing has almost automatically made us throw the ball wide as his presence is huge.
