Simple thread this, what do you think the team should be doing to contain Wakefield, who have already beaten us this season. Not a teams thread, but a tactics one |

Try and get to ball out to the centres alot cause I think our backs are our biggest strength. |

What he said. Work to our strengths rather than changing our play because of our opponents. We are strongest in the backs and so look to move the ball out wide more evenly than we did at the Celtic game. We like attacking down which ever side Hock is on and need to move the ball out more to Gleeson and Roberts on the other side. |

Give as much ball to Hock, Sam, Gleeson, Carmont, and Tommy and get in their faces when defending. |

Is Drew playing again? IIRC he kinda destroyed us in the ruck area that match, meaning our markers have to be really alert, which makes me think we should tag Lockers/Hansen/Tomkins to him to make sure they never get on the front foot, because they seem to score through flukish plays and getting a role on. I think we also need to score as much as possible in the first 25, especially pushing it wide on the 3rd-5th tackle, to make sure they dnt have much fight, if Richards is at FB he should be running to the opposite side of the ball on the last play in anticipation for bombs, if Phelps is at FB we should be whipping it right across Smith=>Tomkins=>Phelps=>Gleeson/Carmont as we usually face concentrated defences with clubs like Wakey, and moving it across as quickly as possible so they have no time to regroup, giving the threequarters more time.... thats all I can think right now other than the forwards breaking out into a run occasionally. |

Agianst wakey I would say Marker play is important, as is closing brough down. If we shut down the ruck, and make sure brough is closed down then itl be reet We need our pack to get on top, get coley running hard and fielden...well running, and then bring on Feka and we should be be at least making metres! A massive factor is going to be territory, kick behind Blanch, as we did down that left side agianst Saints and make them come out of thier own half time and time agian. This will have two effects for me, silence the home crowd and make them work hard to get out of their half. They don't have the same capabilities to go the length of field that the likes of Leeds, Blanch is quick but I reckon Amos could hunt him down. Brough likewise. Not too much to ask...surely btw, I've forgoten what their pack is like...Moore who else? |

Defend in a line. Use the forwards near their line. Our backs are not creative enough, so we need to batter them. Simple as that, really. Nothing flash. |
