Now i have to say that i was not at the game tonight but my feelings about Wigan are at there lowest ebb in my time of following the club. The lethargy on the pitch has transmitted to me as a fan and to be perfectly honest my passion for the club is at its lowest point ever. I no longer look forward to the games and in addition to this I am no longer bothered about watching them, if there is another game which may provide more entertainment for my £.

I have always said i an a rubgy league fan prior to being a Wigan fan, and at the moment i see nothing of the qualites in the club that i grew to love the club for.

I am also no longer disappointed by a loss.

Am I alone in feeling like this? Not living in Wigan and having been attempted from one side of the family to follow another club rather than following Wigan being a birth right i wonder if i am alone with this feeling.

I do know i have seen the other club that was forced on me (Wakefield) play far worse rugby than i have ever seen Wigan play, but i still always looked forward to watching them, i hand on heart cannot say the same about Wigan anymore.

There is something wrong at our great club I must admit and it’s a very, very unnerving feeling. I have to admit my passion peaks before the game but I’m getting sick of being let down week after week and it can’t get any lower than it is now.

I really wish we could start a fresh with a new stadium and new beginnings but it’s not going to happen sadly. The JJB just isn’t working out we have admit that don’t we? We’ve hardly had any success in our time there apart from the occasional wins and it’s yet to have a SL trophy paraded round it by us and it just doesn’t sit right for me.

It made it worse going to the Bel Air after the game and seeing all the pictures of the great and successful Wigan teams on the walls as well as our eternal home in Central Park 2.

I started feeling like this after the challenge cup semi final defeat , and its got worse week after week. I have apathy for nearly everything to do with the club , even the fans (the blind faith lets get behind the team number 18 wearing ones) get on me t!ts

Yours is a personal view Jonh and each has his/her own including me.
Perhaps have a look again at the things you loved about Wigan, why they are not there for you now and then what you feel must be done by the club to regain those qualities.
Maybe put your views to Ian Lenagan or Mick Hogan.

My own views are as a Wigan and a Rugby League fan and the excellence there has been over the decades, the disaster of relegation then the resurgence of Wigan and the halcyon days which will never be repeated.
These ups, downs and even greater days are now gone and replaced by mediocrity.
At the start of the 2008 season and the RFL's launch. It was triumphed that the RFL & SL would continue the very successfull policy of levelling.
By the end of the 2008 and England's humiliating exit from the World Cup we saw just what level British Rugby League has sunk to. This the RFL says is success. That's what levelling has done to our game and as a Wigan supporter my real concern is that Ian Lenagan has bought into this.
Whilst IL is prepared to accept levelling and the rubbish put out by the RFL & SL his club, Wigan, is in serious trouble. I really do wonder where Wigan and British Rugby League is going.
However, I am a season ticket holder and was there tonight.
We were not good enough to beat a team of less than average players.
I will be going to the four nations in autumn and was considering the trip in 2010 for the comp down under. The 2010 trip is now being reconsidered.

Jonh you asked for a view, that's mine.

We needed relegation, we had a chance at a new start but Mo & DW bolloxed it up by bringing in Dobbo, Nobby & Fielden, the rot has just gotten worse since then. Out of the ashes a new dominance might have been forged.

It's a very good point for debate.

I'm really worried about Wigan at the moment. We lost (and didn't replace) our star player last year. Who do the young Wigan fans look up to now, apart from maybe Feka?

Our crowds are slowly falling. I remember crowds of 7-8k against Hudds at the JJB so it's not quite panic stations yet. It's not good seeing the crowds that we've steadily built start to drop off :?

23 - 20 - 4

Warrington led 16-2 in Saturday's Grand Final, but their joy was short-lived as Wigan roared back to win the Super League title and extend the Wire's 58-year wait to be champions

I totally agree, we'd have been back in Super League now anyway with less aussies and our young lads would have had more experience at a higher level. I'd rather watch a passionate Wigan in NL1 than what we have now tbh.

Given the majority of our current side have contracts agreed under Noble and/or IL what you say is irrelevant.

There are only four players who were signed pre-Noble in the current squad. Bailey, Fielden (but he came with him so doesn't really count), TL and Feka.

So unless you think getting relegated and thus having to release those four players would have solved all our problems you are barking up the wrong tree.

The current state of the Wigan team is far more influenced by who has been recruited or re-signed under Noble and IL. If they have made mistakes then they would most likely have made them when we came up from NL1.

As to the idea it would have got rid of the Aussies mentioned by someone else I reckon it would have done the exact opposite. The club would be forced to look overseas to get enough players of reasonable quality to compete as the few good players we do have would have gone and there is a lack of good British players available.

I don't think its the players we have which is the main problem, we have some decent players who can all perform on their day we should be at least on a par with Wakefield, Hudds etc but we're not. Its the attitude, problems in the backroom thats the issues. We need to get the players we have to play to the best of their abilities, in most jobs if you don't put the effort in you get sacked. Apart from a few exceptions Noble has taught the squad that they'll get picked regardless of effort and results get him out now I say and worry about who to replace him with afterwards.
