Post subject:  Academy Kick Off - This Saturday at Orrell

The Under 18s Academy begin their season with the visit of Hull FC to Orrell on Saturday. Kick Off 2pm. Free to season ticket holders.

Plan to be there to offer a site match report on Saturday Afternoon as I do (hangover permitting) on Good Friday for the 11am Academy Kick Off v Salford at Orrell.

The reserve team also play on Saturday Afternoon AWAY at Hull.

Good stuff.

I went to Hull watching the reserves last year at Ionians (sp) so I think I give that a miss and watch the academy this week.

It'll be interesting to watch some of the new, promoted lads.

Bit annoying having the Academy and Reserves playing at about the same time and 100 miles away.

......against the same teams. You'd think they'd swap one match round and do a double header either here or there.

Bound to be a few new faces.

Joe Mellor, Ian Thornley, Logan Tomkins, Sam Cunningham, Josh Charnley, Chris Gerrard and Stefan Marsh were all Under 18 regulars last season who have moved up to being regulars in the reserve grade so far this year.

Three new academy signings were revealed at the Cas game.

The three from left to right are Matthew Crow, Danny Parkinson and Danny Bridge and are pictured at half time during last Friday's home game with Castleford Tigers. The boys are pictured with Chairman Ian Lenagan and Youth Recruitment/ Player Welfare Manager Brian Foley.

Crow and Parkison are centres whilst Bridge is apparently a powerful back rower.
