After 6 hours of it on a saturday, its a disgrace they have done it again.
I think it boils down to customer demand. The amount of people that listen to GMR who want RL coverage must be minimal in relation to soccer fans, so I don't blame them.
It definetly comes down to demand. Its always been the case in the memory of man. We are actually lucky they don't have rights to do Man Utd league games. They'll even drop the final quarter of Latics commentary to do Man City at 3pm again to more demand.
To be fair also theirs no pure Manchester Super League side in action today.

Why don't they use split frequencies, DAB and Internet Streams like Radio Humberside so that alost all Football & RL games can be listned to live in some format?.

Radio Manchester doesn't have an AM frequency. DAB could be done I suppose but its not that common. They could do online, they have done at times in the past. But they also they share Warrington and Saints coverage with BBC Merseyside anyway. The Wire game was on BBC Merseyside and could be heard online there - so not worth Manchester doing it as well.

Although they changed the name, they assured us that they would still cover Greater Manchester news and sport.
It's not really cost effective to do it for those teams being blunt. I wouldn't listen any of them online ahead of Super League alternatives. They did offer an online stream of an Oldham Play Off Match late last season though.

I would, how many do you think tune in to Wigan Latics games?
