Wigan fans are backing the local lads (Tomkins and Ainscough) to be are new heroes. We have 2 crackers and there are many more behind them.
Along the way they have made a few mistakes in the last 2 matches.
So far they have gone unpunished in that we have won our last 2 games.
They are young lads and there will come a time when they cock up and lose us a game. Dont hang them for it. We need to develop our youngsters for the long game.
Fans, Nobby please take note.
Whatever happened to Billy McGinty's pineapple?
"unless you hit it directly at Paul Wellens, it's several minutes before he'll arrive at the ball." Saddened
"I'm done. Brown out. If LMS, Turner or Walker get in any match day squad i will not be attending from now on in." LFC Saint

Everyone will make mistakes, no matter how good of player they may be they are only human after all. The important thing is that we should get behind them and try not to criticise much, their development into SL players is dependable on coaching yes, but also how the fans react to their mistakes.

Leeds away will be a massive test for them. Can they handle it? I've no doubts whatsoever that they can. I'd like to see Sam start again next week, he didn't put a foot wrong tonight nor did Ainscough.

The Leeds pack is different to that of Bradfords, tonight he was the focal point for their attack (even though he defended well). Tomkins will be England No. 7 eventually but Nobby will be weary of throwing him in against Leeds from the off, maybe off the bench.
He played Coyle against Leeds so he should play Tomkins, he would do better than Smith.
Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good - sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league - Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate - the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever - Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go - Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know - FIOS
His defence was solid and showed that he can stand up to the big runners. He should start against Leeds. Now is the time to see what he is made of. He looks like he has the composure to cope. Please don't wrap him up in cotton wool otherwise he will never learn his trade.

I can see that we may need to rest our youngsters occasionally to avoid burn out but see no reason to rest them for Leeds.
I don't believe in burn-out so I ain't buying into that. They play for their places, if and when Sam has a quieter game (which believe it or not will happen) and Smith is "on-fire" for the reserves then Smith would deserve a shot back in the first team.
Noble has quite clearly said he will pick on form. Therefore Tomkins and Ainscough for the forseeable future should be in the first team.
