The second act of the year to appear on the Wigan Warriors Showcase Stage this season will be The Cut, who will be making their debut performance on the stage before arguably the Warriors biggest game of the season so far against the Bradford Bulls on Saturday 7th of March (KO 5.30pm).

Making a name for themselves around Wigan and further beyond following a series of successful gigs at Liverpool’s Cavern Club and performing in Wigan town centre at the Christmas Cracker lights-switch-on, the band enjoyed a New Years Eve show at St Helens social club in front of hundreds of rocking revelers to see in 2009.

They have also been busy writing new material, some of which they will debut on for the first time while performing on the Showcase.

Lead guitarist Danny Tyms said, “The Warriors Showcase is a great chance for younger live music fans to come and see a local band as kids wouldn’t normally be able to gain entry into pubs and clubs but this is a free outdoor event which everyone can enjoy plus the band can reach a wider audience”.

The ‘new look’ stage will be in the usual place located outside the North-East corner of the stadium (facing the JJB Soccer Dome) from about an hour before kick-off (4.30pm).

You can find out more about The Cut and listen to a few of their songs on their Myspace page here: http://www.myspace.com/thecut.

Supporters can watch the bands at most home games on the Warriors Showcase Stage: from rock to indie, metal to punk, acoustic to dance.

Previous acts/bands performing on the stage have included Wigan stalwarts such as Simon Fox, The Randoms, The Atomic Hound Dog, Wallgate Circus, This Devastated Fan, Plasmastorm and Inside View, alongside a host of young bands.
