According to Radio Humberside this morning, Hull are about to make a bid to take Richie Mathers on loan, to cover the absence of Todd Byrne, and Motu Toni both of whom have long term injuries.

I'm devastated.
If it gives him regular first team Rugby and gets him up to speed with the game it can only help us why not might work out great for us other teams do it and get much better players back after there loan spell.

I would think quite a lot do Leeds and Saints have players out on loan every year some to super league clubs some to NL1 clubs it brings the player on in a better competition than the Reserves and i think more come back to the club than dont.

I think Smith from Leeds went out on loan i know we sent Joel out to Widnes and he came back a better player Robinson went to Cas and came back better thats just 3 off the top of my head. I think what Mathers needs is a good long spell of first team Rugby build his confidence he wasn't that bad at Leeds and towards the end of last year he was getting better and plus if he is no better at the end of the loan we have lost nothing have we be a good move all round
