Well still chock full of bad handling, indiscipline and horrible kicking but I couldn't fault the effort and enthusiasm there whatsoever.

Hugely heartening performances from all the young Wigan lads - Ainscough and Tomkins of course but I also thought O'Carroll was terrific and the backrow much improved. Riddell went a lot better and let's stick with Richards at fullback now - its clearly the best way to go.

Wasn't impressed with Tim Smith again and our defence on the fringes is awful, George Carmont being the main culprit for me on this occasion.

But something to build on at least, its clear from patches of that game that we have potential.

Better go and have a lie down Maddog. Do you realise that's the first reasonable post we've had on here tonight!

Well done to Brian Noble for sticking with Ainscough and finally giving Sam Tomkins his chance.

A very big well done to both those players for fully justifying that selection also.

I am not convinced that the performance was any better than the last couple of weeks, certainly a side with a bit more pace and guile could and should have been 18 nil up on us.

However, a win is a win and it should bring back a bit of confidence but there is a lot of improvement needed if we are to challenge.

:DRUMMER: Baby!

We got a win. I said to my dad at half time, if we're going to win this it will be scrappy and it was. We were lucky that Chad Randall had a moment of madness otherwise we could still be winless today.

Let's not get carried away by our first win but it is something to try and kick start our season. Plus it's 2 points more than Wire so all is good :D
