I could go on and on but....
the reason why Saints and Leeds have overtook Wigan is that they have simply been better than Wigan at recruiting better players and also have had very little injuries during the past 3 or 4 years the answer is very simple the salary cap has ruined Wigan's plans to back at number one again.
Look at premier league football for example if man utd chelsea arsenal etc had to oblige by a salery cap it would be possible that another team that recruits the better players than those 3 would be top!
Wigan had more money to spend and it bankrupted the club in the end resulting in the loss of Central Park.
The reason why the club is in the position it is boils down to bad management at board level during the pre Super League era and the very early Super League era. The club was highly successful but went for broke to maintain success which it could no longer do and as soon as there was a slip in form everything came down like one of Fred Dibnah's chimneys.
Not only did the club lose its famous stadium which was a fortress, it moved into the mentality of sacking coaches every two years or less.
No club who repeatedly sacks the coach/manager is ever going to be a success. Some sacking were probably deserved others were clearly not.
