You say we do not need another centre? Sorry but if you think make-shift centre Bailey is acceptable then your wrong. If you think Goulding is better than Gleeson, your wrong. Gleeson is a better centre than both of them and would help bring the best of Amos out. I am NOT saying he is the saviour of Wigan.
Goulding has had many seasons at Wigan and had plenty of opportunities to prove his worth, shown little of it. IMO he has only showed poor defense and ball greedy play in attack. I don't want to see him go as a lot of people say he will come good and if that was true we'd want him. But right now Gleeson IS the better choice.
We have a list of players that are extremely average and do not make the first team, swapping two of those for one that would improve the starting 17 is good business.
GRANTED we ALL know we need a prop, but i'm sure IL and BN have looked around and cannot get one they want for the future, so will have to wait until the end of the season. We may need a new halfback to partner Sam. Also most likely to happen at the end of the season.
But we also need a new centre as Bailey aint a centre and Goulding is struggling to make the position his when an average 2nd rower is getting selected before him. Gleeson as it seems is available to some extent, so that is why we are going for a centre instead of a prop and halfback at this time.
Hope that clears it up for you.
