I’d suggest a big part is fans are hoping we get to the GF and are saving limited funds for that.

Indeed.

I'd love a system where fans who have attended more away games and play-offs etc. get first choice on final tickets. It's what a lot of football clubs do, although their points systems aren't perfect they at least reward the fans who are spending more on the club.

I was thinking about that but the issue I kept coming back to was that the finals don’t sell out anymore anyway. Getting a ticket in our end at Spurs or in any recent final hasn’t been a problem, be that via the club or having the RFL site has a back up.

I don’t have a clue what the answer is to improve things across the board but all the clubs need to get their heads together.

Not so sure, it’s pretty expensive attending matches especially with a family so huge advantage for some people who don’t have other commitments.

A big problem for most I expect is the disparity between season ticket prices and play-off games. East stand auto-renewal is £195 = £15 per game.

I'm not sure how a 67% price increase (after the £5 discount) is justified for getting the same seat for a semi-final but we all know how wildly out of touch with reality The RFL are.

Depends how you want to present that though, the season tickets should be at a discounted price otherwise why would anybody want to buy one? The gap narrows if you are not on an auto renew season ticket, i would be surprised if most are.

This game is seperate and not included in your season ticket bundle though, it is a one off event and is being charged accordingly. Would people bat an eyelid if an away ticket they were purchasing for any stadium in the league was around the £25ish mark +/-? Doubt it as that is the going rate in the league for a one off ticket. I will admit the £30 for the east/west if you don't have a season ticket is a couple of quid overpriced imo, but it does line up with the pricing that we have set for away allocation all season, not sure on east/west tickets as i have a season ticket nowadays.

The problem is....people pay for a season ticket that covers league matches and then the biggest matches in the league season (that's what they are, it isn't a seperate competiton) aren't included.

Wigan are playing as an attractive style of rugby that hasn't been seen for years so why wouldn't people want to go? It has to be a pricing matter. Looking at the Leeds prices they are more than attractive, that's why so many Leeds fans are making the journey.

Really? Season Ticket holders at Saints got a £5 discount on tickets for tomorrow so i've paid £18 instead of £23

You would have to assume then that the price of a season ticket would rise accordingly for the 2 potential extra games, eliminator and semi, 8 out of 12 teams season ticket holders would be paying for a game there team doesn't even make it to. People would be (rightly so) complaining about that fact.

Anyway, off to the pub now for a couple of nerve settlers before getting on the ground, come on wigan!
