Am I right is thinking that he has a British passport? I read somehwre that one of his parents was born over here.
I agree with Trainman. He's a slight upgrade on Matty Smith, but with an NRL-standard kicking game (ie typically streets better than SL). Probably would look good over here, but not enough to warrant a big contract. A goal kicking centre would be another matter. Croker from Canberra would fit the bill perfectl;y but there is virtually no chance of that happening

I agree but he really has to prove himself in 2018. Personally I'd love to see us get Hodgkinson for a couple of years. Shorrocks looks to have potential but he's vastly inexperienced and looks a bit fragile / injury prone. 2018 is Leuluai's last playing season and Shorrocks should be aiming to be our 1st choice 7. I'm not sure he's ready but he's an exciting young player. Hodgkinson could be the missing piece in our jigsaw until Shorrocks proves himself.

Bit of a crock though, isn't he? Can't afford to sign players who are already seemingly prone to injury with the amount of absences we seem to suffer year on year.
'Do you remember when we had that meeting in Orlando? We talked about how we were knocked out the previous year by Leeds. And at the end, I asked you one question. "Do you want to be a semi-final team? Or do you want to do something special?" You all said you wanted to win. But talking is easy – it needed you to believe. It needed you to work hard – harder than you had – and make sacrifices. You did all that. you worked for each other. You stuck together when it was tough. And because of your efforts, you sit here tonight as champions. I'm proud of you. Be proud of yourselves. You've done something special.' Shaun Wane's post-Grand Final speech. 5th October 2013.

Aye. He says here that his dad and both grandparents are English.

Like it or not we're unlikely to get any overseas players of a good standard without them coming with a few question marks or then being right at the end of their careers. The days of getting a Kenny or a Barrett are long gone.
The days of getting a Kenny or a Barrett are long gone indeed, but let's not forget there are only 32 available berths for halves in the NRL, and they produce a hell of a lot of good players. They can't all get a game. We are often quick to write off anyone who isn't Cooper Cronk as a 'has-been' or a 'never was', or a 'journeyman'. I've probably been a bit harsh on Hodkinson (no 'g' in it!), who is clearly good enough for Superleague. He's just a bit dull, and not the kind of player to 'make things happen'. Personally I'd love it if, for once, we recruited a relatively young Aussie. along the lines of Jacob Miller, instead of someone in the twilight of their career. Maybe there was a chance to get Lolo when he left the Warriors; someone like that.

The only real question mark about Walsh is his defence, it's pretty bad (read: truly awful) which I think would put us off but we could whip him into shape over an off-season.
