Completely agree.
Two points - firstly I hope Ken brings his tin hat with him because some folks round here expect nothing less than a combination of Kevin Sinfield/Jonny Wilkinson to be kicking for us!
And secondly it is sad that Catalans can't bring on the French players in their squad. They have already lost Springer and now Pelissier and Navarette have left. Escare was a great talent a few years ago. I've heard that their French players are paid buttons so that the likes of Taylor, Stewart and Carney can hoover up the cap. Look how that's working out.

I first saw him at their place a few years ago playing outside Daz Goulding who, as was his wont, put about three on a plate for him, but his positional play was poor and he bombed the chances. However this year he has done well, he has pace and power and looks reasonable in the air. Stood in well at full back for a spell. I think he'd fit in well here. Probably not for the first 13, but would be a good addition to the squad.

Lol, how many Wigan academy players are at other Super League clubs? Why is it any different for Catalan?

If it hasn't worked by now, it never will! I'm all for reaching out to a wider audience with our game but not at the expense of historical clubs in the homelands.

The point he was making is that Catalans seem to prefer to bring in the big name Aussies, rather than bring on their own talent. Wigan produce so much talent that they simply don't have room for them all. Hence why we are the unofficial feeder club for every club in RL.

Wigan are currently short on backs, and likely to remain so for quite a while. What a time for him to jump ship.
I keep thinking about previous exciting kids who were really 'badly done-to' at Wigan because they weren't getting picked all the time; the likes of Nicky Stanton, Shaun Ainscough.
And where are they now?
We didn't see Jake Shorrocks getting uppity and making demands. He just knuckled down, got on with it and took his chances. That's the way you make a career for yourself.
Nicky Stanton! Bloody hell, there's a name I haven't heard for a while. I seem to recall him not turning up for the Academy Grand Final because he had signed a contract elsewhere. I don't even think he's in the game anymore.
