I’ll echo what other people have said about it feeling just like the south stand bar did... to much influence of the riversiders kills it for me. The reserved tables, cringeworthy interviews and raffle makes it feel like the south stand bar did. This should have a different feel and attract a younger crowd.
The bar is great, the atmosphere is decent, the music is good but they need someone with a fresh face doing the interviews instead of that lady from the south stand bar. One minute it feels like a cool supporters bar and the next minute it feels like a shambles.
Let the riversiders sell raffle tickets on the door and I’d say that should be about it from them.
Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good - sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league - Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate - the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever - Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go - Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know - FIOS
they raise a fortune for the academy and do loads for them and the club the riversiders, but yeah lets bag them for reserving some tables....(im not one by the way)

The table reserving isn’t an issue IMO. I’d like to think anyone who ‘needs’ a seat gets one and then having most people stood up and able to move round and chat to their mates or other supporters makes the atmosphere better. I thought if anything they’d put too many tables in on Sunday.

I’ve not really bothered with the South Stand Bar for years but that was down to the fact it wasn’t going in the clubs pockets. In comparison I’ve been in the new fan bar before all three home games this season and I’m enjoying it. There’s little improvements here and there to make but it’s coming together and it feels nice to have something that feels like it belongs to the club.

They had what looked like a screen on at the far end near Lockers Horsebox on the top floor through the window. But it looked like a projector screen which looked a bit faint to me, couldn't tell what game was on.
Whether they can put TVs on wall brackets around the hall remains to be seen but that would be a better option I think. Obviously things like this need paying for and the money from the fanzone no doubt goes back into funding further improvements as we go along.
