Gets signed with a huge transfer fee. Doesnt win the NRL grand final by himself, ergo is a failure according to aussie logic.
First season he did well, second was blighted by injury. Hes more than welcome back in super league. The season before he went, he was unplayable at times. Scared the hell out of me as a saints fan.

I wonder whether the juvenile boo-burghers will be back on Sunday.

Did Hardaker actually have to field any kicks? Having only seen the tries, I wouldn't know.
So is it a case of, "Zak Hardaker, you're no Ash Golding"?

Personally I thought Hardaker was OK first half but anonymous in the second. As I've said elsewhere McNamara has a dilemma on his hands when it comes to Hardaker and Tomkins. For me, given how well Bateman went against France the centre spots are taken. With 4 half backs in the squad I'm sure McNamara didn't plan to play Tomkins there but he can't give him the FB spot without dropping Hardaker. Interesting decision coming up. I think he'll go with the same back 5 as France and drop Williams for Tomkins.

I agree with the first part Bateman for me should be starting in the centre position. As a Leeds fan I won't get into a club debate at full back as many Wigan and Leeds fans do. Both hardaker and Tomkins are fantastic players both have their strengths and weakness. Anyone who says anything else needs to take their cherry and white or blue and Amber glasses off. It's a tough call and I am unsure which way I would go it's a tough call. Zak offers better defensive play stronger kick returns. Tomkins is more creative, and while Zak offers a stronger kick return it's generally a solo effort Tomkins has the ability for himself or to create a chance

If he does start at 1 then he's going to have to be absolutely outstanding or else the knives will be out
I recall a few seasons back when Wigan fans commented that our national side should not be picked on reputation alone but on form, So how does Sam get a spot as he hasn't played for months?
Wigan fans also said that the National skipper shouldn't be announced too early as it guaranteed that player a starting spot irrespective of if that player (Sinfield) was in form or merited a spot or not
Should this years captain have been picked as captain or for that matter based on his club form?

I don't think you will get many arguments from Wigan fans on this one. Does Sam Tomkins deserve to swann in after months of injury to claim a full back spot whilst pushing out the current MOS to a different position? In my opinion - No.

As I've said before, the key thing above anything else regarding form and different abilities in attack and defence is.....is he fit? That he didn't play against France suggests his knee really is an issue and we shouldn't play him if he's struggling fitness-wise.
