This point was raised earlier in the season. I'm getting to a point were I'm going to the game out of habit rather than enjoyment. It's getting me out of the house for a few hours. I did get my hopes up after a good win against Saints and a good 20mins against Salford but a result like the one on Saturday just leaves me feeling empty* again.
I debated last year about getting a season ticket again for this year and after going to the fans forum my interest was reignited, but I'll seriously consider getting a nice pair of shoes for my birthday rather than a season ticket for next year if things don't change. I don't think I'll be on my own either.
*Maybe an over exaggeration. I have got far more important things in my life than a rugby game.
Yeah I can understand where you're coming from myself.
A BIG club that has a magnificent past and quite likely a pretty good future when it's all said and done but you can't be f*****g bothered to actually support them through a few barren years, can you.
I'll tell you what mate, try being a fan of Doncaster right now, our my club Hornets, we don't know where the next penny is coming from or if we'll even be in business next season and you're in the Challenge Cup semi-final.
Goodness me what a sanctimonious bunch of whingers you lot are, it's time to grow up and smell what you're shovelling and consider what it's like for fans who don't get even the success you're all moaning about.
Rochdale Hornets haven't had a game for three weeks as our pitch is up for repairs, we have no money coming in except for lottery cash and that won't keep us going alone.
I'll tell you one thing though, I will be at every match whether we play well or badly and I'll support every fund-raiser I can and put in as much cash as I can get past the wife because I love my team. I've supported them for 44 years probably before a lot of you were f*****g twinkles and success was getting spanked by Saints in the Cup!
If you've got more important things than Wigan then do them, my family know I had Hornets before them and they take their place as well as my club.

The issue was that we're not a good enough side to be leaving one of our better players out however young he may be especially seeing that he was going to get the next 2 weeks off after that anyway!!!
He also had a rest week only 3-4 weeks before the Salford game against Hull Kr.

The word in bold shows you have totally missed the point of this thread.
Unofficially the most boring poster on Cherry and White.

Difference is at Saints they are replaced by players like Wellens, Long, Gilmour or Pryce and you've got plenty of strength in depth to not miss them.
Sadly Wigan needs Tomkins to play for the rest of the season to salvage anything from it and we can’t afford to rest him.

To be brutally honest fella, you're just Rochdale....!
At our club continuous failure just isn't an option.
Supporter power is a powerful tool, it has changed things before and it will change things again.

Never a truer word said and I wouldn’t have it any other way. The day we start to accept defeats like the Celtic one is the day we truly stop becoming a big club.

Would you want to see him ruined by being overplayed in his first couple of years in a team that's failing anyway?
I'm not Jesus Christ, I've come to accept that now.

He had a rest 3 weeks ago against Hull KR and Noble knew he'd get a rest for the French test weekend and the following week when we have a blank weekend.
Nobody wants to see him overplayed and he does need the odd rest but he got 'dropped' for the Salford game not 'rested' because it was the easiest option for Noble.

Of course not but if he did play in the remaining 10 or 11 games this season it would hardly ruin his career would it. Lets face it making the CC final is a massive thing for this club and not making the top eight is not acceptable and honestly do you think not playing in two games makes that much difference?
I was all for at the start of the season Tomkins playing the 10 games BN said he would but that was before we found out how poor Piggy has been, how hit and miss Smith was going to be and how well Tomkins has done.
Next season we need a top half back and Tomkins needs to be handled correctly by swapping in and out with Mcilorum but for this season we need him sadly and we don’t have much more choice.
