How is he not in your opinion? He was poor for Wigan i agree, he in my opinion never stood a chance due to his relationships off the field and history. He lost the dressing room the minute he walked in.

Nobles effect is like a cancer though is a slow death and a slow loss of confidence. Noble stood a chance at Wigan, Millward never did.

Because he is a strong character who will dominate the dressingroom and command respect. Something we have not seen since Mike Gregory. Not to mention his record.

Why would you not want him?

Do you REALLY think that Nobby would have started this SL season without.

IL is the source of the problems here. NOT BN.

How would you feel about Tony Smith?

Turned Leeds into League Champions in his first season, something many bigger names had not achieved in 32 years

Went on to claim the WCC, and then, despite being under the kosh from know-nowt Leeds fans, delivered another title

Likes to use the academy (IIRC about 11 of our 2004 Grand Final winning team came through the ranks) but will use decent older players if they fit in with his plans

Forget his World Cup with England, they were going to fail whoever was in charge. And I'm sure he'd leave that post if he was offered a job like Wigan.

So if Smith was appointed, what would you think of that?

But a coach has to deal with the hand he is dealt, do you think he is utilising it to its full potential?

Valid questions that the anti noble mob will dismiss instantly as not an issue.

But to my mind IL does have some things to answer for and his honeymoon period is well and truely over.

Tony Smith at Wigan would be outstanding.

Newsnight 13th May 2010: "With the role of Deputy Prime Minister a non-job. Has Nick Clegg gone from King Maker to tea maker????"

I kept the faith and I kept voting
Not for the iron fist but for the helping hand
For theirs is a land with a wall around it
And mine is a faith in my fellow man
Theirs is a land of hope and glory
Mine is the green field and the factory floor
Theirs are the skies all dark with bombers
And mine is the peace we knew
Between the wars

true, but people said that about Noble, awsome at Bradford. But I would say Smith would be my first choice followed by Paul Cullen
