Which is why we turned our noses up at Sandow, I suppose. JT and Sandow are very different players, but what they do have in common is that they play what's in front of them. Which we do next to none of these days. Remember a home game last season (can't recall who against) when we had a scrum just inside our own half, and Matty Smith kicked long on first tackle? Budgie ran through, collected the ball, and scored under the posts. OK, situations like that don't crop up too often, but are we even looking for those chances nowadays?

We need to recruit a coach, either a head or an assistant.
100% correct IMO.
Our squad is fine now (when they're all fully fit) and will be better next year. We have a group of players capable of winning things if they're coached well and provided with a set of tactics to work towards.
My first thought is Wane needs support. If he doesn't like that then maybe he's gone as far as he can go with us.
I'd still like to see a quality half; more than a centre, in fact. For all people say he's wasted there and is better in the second row (and I don't necessarily disagree), Bateman can do a good job for us if needed in the centres.
[edit] I was going to say, look how many tries Sandow, Gale and Sneyd has scored this season. But I thought I'd better check my facts before posting , so went to the SL stats page. In fact, Gale has only managed four tries this season, and Sneyd three. But perhaps the difference is, they look like they might score at any time! And Sandow? He's got 11. Not bad, especially as he's been out a fair while.

Hopefully Smith goes that must free up cap space to bring in at least one.
If we pick up a knock in the centres next year we are playing a backrow there. Less than ideal.
Don't think we're a forward short personally, Flower Crosby Nuuausala Tautai Clubb Bretherton and Mossop is enough, even if Mossop leaves, 6 props is still enough.
I agree we're a centre short though, Gelling and Gildart are two good centres to have as starters, thankfully our worst centre is leaving at the end of the season, Someone like Mason Caton Brown would be good as a cover utility back, can cover at full back centre and wing, rumoured to be leaving Salford so we should put an offer in imo
Smith will hopefully go at the end of the year, Leuluai and Shorrocks are both better than him and certainly Leuluai is better, he's been ripping up NRL defences last few weeks, he'll give Williams and Shorrocks great experience
I don't think we are a forward short either. I'd agree with the centre/utility cover as we look a but lightweight in the 3/4's if we get injuries. What we need is a goal kicker. We got lucky with Pat Richards becoming as good as he was. Smith is not a goal kicker and never will be. I applaud him for putting his hand up but we need better.
Just on props, I agree we've got enough, my beef would be (reserving judgement on FPN for now until he settles in SL) that none of them are as good as the best SL props like Taylor or Millington. Tautai is certainly much improved, but is he really a prop?
