Absolutely spot on
Using a still shot from a different anlge to say what the ref could or couldn't see is ridiculous

Some Salford fan said to me and I quote "You are by far and away the most Handsome & Knowledgeable Rugby League Fan in England!"

I thanked him and went on my Merry way!

The problem is there are plenty angles and still shots that show the ball not on the line.

There isn't one that shows it on the line.

That's because there's a rugby ball in the way

Case in point.

Apologies if this link doesn't work. But it's on Facebook on NRL on Nine page. Even the studio of Aussies is split there. Brad Fittler saying on the line. As I said earlier, not as controversial as Saints/Wire fans will have you believe. That video favours the ref's initial call.

The image with Wardles finger is an example of nothing only him putting a finger up to indicate he got the ball down at a point, not as the picture is caught.

Go around in circles here but.... you have three tacklers trying to stop a try no conversations with each other trying to do their best but all acting independently, the whole action lasts a second at most at the point ref gets a view he sees ball on floor clearly shown on image, Wardle finger in air was to say he got it down but by that time they have pushed him back away and is a moment later than the grounding. No way on earth from camera angles can anyone for certain say ball doesn't touch white grass. Nor can they for sure say that it's Wardle moving it and not one of the tackling players pulling the arm up while other player pulling arm away in opposite directions. But which ever side you sit we are all bias.

The images are all different timeline ball is never really stationary Wardle trying get to line one Penrith player pulling to body other pulling away, it does show that the ref does see what he thinks is a grounded ball and is also better placed than any camera. The shape of ball it's position and the run of the line would 100 times out of 100 see this go up as a try, and by the rules in place you can't chalk it off no matter how your bias would like that.
I can live with that just like I'm sure Saints fans can live with Penrith players backing up what many thought last year, that they didn't take last year's game seriously and didn't really prepare for it. We both have it chalked down as a win.

Apologies if itā€™s been said already on one of the previous pagesā€¦but I canā€™t believe the lack of credit given to Wigans effort when you factor in there was no Havard, Thompson and Walters. Going up against a massive pack like that with Leeming and Cooper getting injuries in the game (appreciate that Cooper came back on) and a really raw prospect in Hill. Outstanding effort when you factor in things like that.

Big shout out to Cleary as well. The fact that, after defeat, he went to the North stand and spent god knows how long taking selfies with fans and signing autographs. True class
