i for one was greatly underwhelmed by the whole affair and wont be attending another forum - it is solely a PR exercise for IL to make him look reasonable in front of simpletons.
we cant answer the questions we want answering such as
where has trents/calderwood/highams wages gone?
why does smith/phelps count as the 2009 ins when theyre already here in 2008? were we not paying them? isnt any sort of play now pay later deal against this grand restoration of the wigan brand IL talks about?
when you hear that BN doesnt have final say on signings why tell us he does? or is that one of those the chairman may suggest things ala playoff competitors?
how do you feel about certain players social reputations - i.e. drunkards
why, if you need to book fixtures 12 months in advance didnt you book good friday? its like forgetting your birthday or xmas? unforgivable.
in the world of transfers a nods as good as a wink to a blind man - IL has made what 7? transfers attempts this year. i could phone man utd and offer them £1 for wayne rooney - they say no but you cant argue i didnt put the offer in in the first place!
IL wont discuss names, dates, figures etc which is understandable but id love to know about ennis v riddell for instance and who BN really wanted.
this all wouldnt be as annoying but i left last night knowing nothing more than when i walked in. in fact, some of what was said directly contradicts things that people have said in a less formal environment.
i also thought loobyfromorrells question was unfairly brushed aside - every team in sl could fill their squad with local players with no real intent of playing them - its nothing to brag about if theyre not going to play - money where mouth is time.
I've seen them bomb a quarter final, bottle a semi final, finish as league leaders, but I've still, never, seen the Wire win the league Doom and gloom, doom and gloom

So everyone is an idiot except you (even those who, unlike you, don't expect to be given the intimate details of players' personal deals, personal problems etc)?
Fair enough. At least we know where you're coming from.
I'd have been more impressed though if you'd put these comments to the chair instead of saving them for the anonymity of this message board (like many of the others who are currently whingeing on here).
I went to the FF last nite enjoyed most of it apart from earing were playing second fiddle to a football team 10 years ago 1 man and his dog watched you could sense the angy when IL said that about us having to move a game if there drawn at home in the FA cup yet if were drawn at home we have to play it on a thursday nite.

IL Said some of trents wages had gone on improved contracs and better wages for the young players plus riddel and roberts must be on as much as higham and calderwood.
I came away last night thinking the club was in good hands and a long period of stabilaty and planning wich I think IL and nobby will give us will see us start to win things again

That just makes me believe more that the cup draw is fixed because we've never had cup ties against the top teams since we moved to the JJB.

I can accept that we are leasing the ground from Whelan and therefore have to accept that we have to play 2nd fiddle up to a point. What I find unacceptable ( if I am reading it correctly) is that we could have a game planned (since the fixtures came in at the start of the season) for a Friday night and then if Latics draw a home cup tie for the Saturday then we would have to change our game. IF the Latics cup tie was for the same day as our game then I can see that we would have to give way but if it's the day after our game then I find it unnacceptable. We would be going back to the arguments and excuses that were used for the play off game last season but this time we would have given the required notice to use the ground. We also know that it IS possible to turn the ground around in 24 hours so it looks as if we would be greatly inconvenienced (ie corporate hospitality and sponsors etc not to mention us poor speccies) just on a whim of Dave Whelan. ( Or should that be on the objection from his football team manager).
I am not biased; I'm not bothered who beats St. Helens.
