and i'll be more then happy because we'll have a world class halfback and the nastiest pack in the league
Although it sounds silly, it's exactly what we need. It is really the difference between us being rubbish again next season or improving.
Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good - sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league - Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate - the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever - Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go - Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know - FIOS

We've spent big money on wingers time and again over the past 4 or 5 years and i don't honestly get why. Unless you get a freakish wingman like Vainikolo why bother? If your centres are good enough all you need is a plodder like Gardner who can catch and put the ball down. The 2 English wingers(Fox and Hall) in the recent test match are exactly the sort of solid, prety cheap wingmen you can get through with. They both do the simple things well but have good players on the inside of them.
I've always said this. When we had a great team we sometimes had wingers like Myers and Andy Johnson who scored a hatful of tries because of the players inside them.

Danny Ellison scored 4 trys in the premiership final years back and proves the point.
Danny Arnold at Saints was another.
In the days of the salary cap wingers unless world class gamebreakers should be your lowest paid players imo. That sounds strange when you look back through history but centres and fullbacks are more of a must for teams.
With Hock's loss now I think the HB as gone out of the window TBH
New Prop - Yes - As I always say N.Cayless/C. Webb
New Second Rower - Yes people will say we have Mossop/Farrell, but please it's one heck of a huge risk to play such young lads in a position, were you'll be compared to the best 2nd rower in England. - G. Ellis/S. Wild even D. Tickle would be superb as a replacement.
FB - Still think we have a shot at signing S. Briscoe, after speaking to him this week, he's still got Wigan in him.
The HB will not be signed as there's now no-one available.
Lockyer, we'd have to pay big, and I don't think IL will.
Finch, to stay at Storms or go to Manley
Orford stated months ago, contract talks are on hold as he wants to sort the teams performances out and keep his mind on the games not off the field subjects.
Who else is there?
Myler Still think he'll be a Salford biy next year

Where to start......
WE DO NOT NEED TO SIGN A 2nd ROWER.
Hansen, Joel, Mossop, Farrell or even Coley (give him another year, it also gives us additional prop cover) can play there.
The halfback MUST be Myler, he will be leaving Salford, IL MUST secure him for Wigan.
We also need a world class prop who can go for at least half a game and mix it and overcome Graham, Peacock et al.
We also don't NEED a fullback, Phelps is more than capable there. Not to mention why would Hull KR release Briscoe?

I have a horrible feeling our new half back will be Chris Thorman from Hull.
He is off contract and they have signed sean long. I hope to god it isnt.
