Jeez, I hope not. I think the world of him as a player but he’s an ordinary goal kicker. There’s no shame in that and it’s not his fault there has been nobody else to have a crack at it. When we do have somebody else, maybe it’ll bring more out of Smith but I’d just unburden him to start with.

Unless he wants to pass on the goal kicking I’d stick with him. His technique looks good he just needs more consistency which can be achieved with a good coach. I just have a feeling that he actually wants the responsibility.
I just wish they'd take the kicking off him, He is a wonderful talent with ball in hand, but not a goal-kicker. I assume he is kicking well in practice (so that's why they persist), but that's not like kicking in a game situation. Is anyone else (Field? Marshall?) going to be any worse, on overall stats?
Smith's field kicking was brilliant tonight. Catalans struggled throughout the game and with the team's fast chase pinned the Catalans back for the full 80.
Smith's goal kicking is talked about endlessly but his field kicking is hardly ever mentioned. His percentage of successful kicks would be helped if we could score more under the sticks. They are very few and far between.
