To be fair tonight we could point the finger at 17 players so personally I wouldn’t just pick out Powell or Cust. With the current pack we will be vulnerable to any team that fronts us up. We are severely lacking leadership at the moment on and off the field. How we start every game at the moment is pretty frightening. My biggest worry is the lack of dog in the team and specifically in the pack. I’ve never particularly rated Bateman but at least he always had a dig. Our pack at the moment is,to put it politely, powderpuff and rudderless. We will lose next week at Huddersfield and then the pressure will really start to build.
2/4 is majorly disappointing consider j think we’ve had a easy run fixtures.
Don’t think we have the pack to compete with the top teams.
Phil Clarke is right on Cust, he seems very popular amongst fans but he’s done nothing since he’s joined - he’s happy to sit back and let Smith do all the kicking and playmaking, he’s bad in defence, his running game is very average.
Not watched it back but Mago had his best game in ages. Put the offloads away and seemed to make plenty of metres and give us a spark.
See how we go next week.
RICHARDS IS SUPERMAN!!!!

There's just no threat in an around the middle of the park. The one time we cut back against the grain, we score a try.
Teams are flying out on our 2nd pivot on every single play and because our play is so predictable, this works 9 times out of 10.
It's over to Matt Peet now, we've got a difficult run until Easter. The team has got the potential to do really well this year, but it's just that at the moment. We can't expect to win RL games turning up with a good attitude one week, then an entitled one the next.

He had a reasonable season last season without being spectacular but he hasn’t kicked on so far this year as yet and in reality has been poor.
I don’t think that there is any chance at the moment that Powell will be relieved of the hooking role as I think that Peet must be concerned about the lack of leadership on the pitch and I assume that Powell is thought as a critical part of a very thin in experience squad. The best hooker in the squad is Forber by a country mile but he won’t get a sniff in the short term due a shortage of experience within the squad. If we get on a run of 4 or 5 consecutive defeats then Peet, with very limited options, will have to look at doing something completely different otherwise, we will be this season’s Wire.
When Cust played against Salford in the pre season friendly I thought he looked slimmer and a touch faster than last season but as a few have already said he just doesn’t get involved enough or have the required skills to be a top HB.

I’d be looking to start with Powell and introduce Cust off the bench.
Unofficially the most boring poster on Cherry and White.
I never thought I'd be defending Wigan on a Wigan forum but there seems to be a bit of an over-reaction here. I didn't see any of the game last night as I was at Utd but I have to say I was surprised when I saw the score after the game.
However, you have lost away against HKR which was always going to be a tough game at any point of the season never mind their opening game. You've then followed up with a 96-0 aggregate score over two games. To keep any SL team scoreless is a great achievement regardless of how bad they were.
Catalan are a funny team and last night their good side obviously showed up. Was probably the worst conditions possible for a team with a pack as light as yours, it would've suited Catalans much better.
Talk of a defeat against Hudds is surprising, I think you'll go there and win.
I still see Wigan as our main challengers (and to be fair I think Warrington will challenge properly this year)
