To be honest, after the Bulls did your lot I said to my girlfriend "the only problem is Saints'll be after blood at Murrayfield now". Even 5 minutes before kick-off I thought we were in for another tonking. Sweet to be wrong!

Long may move on after this year and people can say what they want about Eastmond but he's yet to prove to me he's anywhere near replacing a modern great like Long.
Wellens has another 4 or 5 years in him probably but i don't honestly think his form of the past 2 seasons would warrent him being that much of a loss anyway if he was to retire.
Saying all that they've got new leaders emerging like Graham, Wilkin and Roby so they're going to be right around the top end of the table for a good number of years yet.
Both Cunningham and Long will have to really up their game this year to be worth new contracts, Cunnungfham especially for me has been poor and it's been noticeable that the team has improved when Roby has come on.
Wellens for me has to move from full back to prolong his career, the faults are starting to appear as he slows down and his positional sense doesn't cover for it like it used to.
Of course you'll always get those fans that think that all three players are still in their prime and are the worlds best.
I'm not Jesus Christ, I've come to accept that now.

To be honest, I think Saints could get another couple of years out of Wellens. While he's never been quick he lost a yard or two of pace at least 2-3 seasons ago (like a slower version of Michael Owen he slowed down in his mid-20s), but he's managed to cover it up so far (apart from the odd lapse like being comprehensively beaten for pace by Vaeliki of all people), and as long as Saints continue to have a good 3/4 line (well, excluding Gardner! ) and he maintains a good positional sense he can probably continue to get away with his lack of pace for a bit longer.

You looked far more dangerous when Roby was on the pitch Saturday, his strength for someone of his size is remarkable.
Eastmond was playing FB, with Wellens at centre, have you used this tactic before??

I suppose if Long and Cunningham were to go down the road with Moore coming into replace Cunningham that would free up alot of space on the cap to replace Long with and then get another couple of players in to increase the squad size.
It's probably needed to be fair. The first 17 is still very good but after that there isn't really anybody of note in terms of backup.

Good God! Is it possible to have someone so Bad if it's based on how he has slowed down!

saints looked worse for me with wellens at centre and eastmond at fb
I've seen them bomb a quarter final, bottle a semi final, finish as league leaders, but I've still, never, seen the Wire win the league Doom and gloom, doom and gloom
