I think Noble may let him sit this one out, and get ready for next week. Also, depending on injuries I'd give Sam a bench spot this week.
Lets not be picky on the lad.
Either way the positives far far outweigh the negatives he has been fantastic so far. The point I was making is that we should just give him a week off.
Wigan Warriors Head Coach Brian Noble has today named his 19 man squad for Sunday's engage Super League home game with Celtic Crusaders at the JJB Stadium, 3pm kick off.
Missing from the 19 is second rower Harrison Hansen who misses out with a dead leg, Cameron Phelps comes back in after missing the Catalans clash as does Gareth Hock.
Wigan Warriors 19 man squad
Amos Roberts, George Carmont, Pat Richards, Tim Smith, Thomas Leuluai, Stuart Fielden, Mark Riddell, Iafeta Paleaaesina, Gareth Hock, Phil Bailey, Sean O'Loughlin, Joel Tomkins, Andy Coley, Michael McIlorum, Paul Prescott, Cameron Phelps, Martin Gleeson, Sam Tomkins, Shaun Ainscough.
The referee for the game is Steve Ganson.

As I posted on the Saints prediction/team thread both he and Sam should have missed that game.
I still think they need a rest. What a pity - if it happens - that they miss what should be an easy-ish runout yet had to endure the Easter fixtures.

Carmont and smith to miss out, with Phelps starting at Centre, would be my choice, Carmont to be rested not dropped by the way, as i am sure he cannot be 100% at the moment give the way he has struggled to get through the last two games.

Roberts unlucky to miss out, but i'd like to see how Phelps performs at FB and how Richards & Glesson work together. I was tempted to rest Ainscough, but I think Celtic could be a good chance for him to notch up a few tries.
McIlorum to be rested as I would like to see if Tomkins & Smith can work as a half back pairing together, he does a great job in defense but doesn't really lead the team from Dummy Half, which is where Leuluai could do the job quite well.

Smith and Tomkins to miss out for me.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Noble will try Phelps at 6
