So disappointed in Tim, I had high expectations for him for this season.
Sam actually did alright, caught everything what come at him and seemed to make a few good yards when he had ball in hand. Okay, he caught more yesterday at full back than Mathers has in the 2 years he's been here.
And as did I regarding Tim Smith, its just not working for him though.
Someone else I've been disappointed with this season so far. And Roberts?
I thought Riddell did ok.
However, for Riddell to stand out for the short time he is on the pitch, he must take on the defence alot more. He did so on a couple of occaisions in the first half and made a couple of half breaks.
He should have done better with the pass to Leuluai when he broke in the second half, but to make the brake in the first place was good going.

Was quite amusing when he did that poor pass to Tommy, he turned round with his hands on his head, only to realise he had to make an instant tackle when he realised a Barrow player was about to storm past him.

He played at fullback and had a safe game.
After seeing Mathers playing at fullback you appreciate positioning and ability to sweep up behind the backline and I think Roberts does this very well.
One of my only criticisms of Roberts is that when he returns/scoots, he doesn't look beyond the defender and will run at the player instead of looking to exploit a gap.

Me and my mate were laughing at that, Piggy made a great break, had about 4 men supporting him - missed them all with his pass, then turned round and if it wasnt for the "TURNNNNNNNNN", the Barrow player would of gone straight past him, and most probably scored.

He passed okay, he showed he had a sidestep but he can't run. If he could run, he would be class. He even looks a bit strange when he is walking. He was always pointing and telling players where to run.
Barrow looked better coached than Wigan with dummy runners confusing us. Their half-backs were electric.

Barrow's 70 yard first try started with a forward pass right in front of me...it was at an angle of about 30 degrees and should have been spotted but I have no complaints about the ref. He had a decent game. Wigan did forward passes as well that he missed.
I suppose he didn't have a decent game in that case. I suppose what I mean is that he didn't seem to favour one side.
