The fact that fans from other clubs can post on any forum is why I like RLfans forum better than some others.

It would be really boring otherwise.

It's sometimes refreshing getting an alternative view......... but then again sometimes it's not

Quote from Graham Lowe - "I'm 49, I've had a brain haemorrhage and a tripple bypass and I could still go out and play a reasonable game of rugby union ......... but I wouldn't last 30 seconds in rugby league!"

 I like a subtle dig and that's a good 'un.

Conroy - Being a Latics fan i'm already immune to watching sh*te.

Sally Cinnamon - Treat the Saints forum as you would if you met a girl from St Helens. Best policy would be to avoid altogether but if you absolutely can't resist temptation then take every possible precaution.

...........but by the same token.

I log onto this forum to discuss topics about WIGAN RL.

More often than not I find myself seeing inflamatory posts, sometimes disguised as "helpful" (yet more often than not thinley veiled patronising ones) from supporters of other clubs.

Now I am all for forums being available to all, indeed it's sometimes quite interesting to see the points of view on other clubs forums. I know I sometimes read the forums of other clubs, but rarely post.

However, there are dedicated forums for general RL talk within the "RL Fans" group of message boards. I cannot understand why the supporters of the other clubs don't utilise those more.

Those that wish to discuss issues with supporters of clubs other than their own, can do so with their like minded counterparts.

Those that only wish to discuss issues affecting their particular club can do so without wading through pointless bile from the supporters of rival clubs.

Seems like a win-win situation to me. *shrugs*

Indeed the only people who could possibly object are those that take pleasure in trolling the forums of other clubs.

Seems fair enough to me.

I occasionally post on other clubs' boards but to be honest I always think of myself as a visitor to those boards. It's like a stranger interrupting a conversation between friends, the stranger should always be careful not to cause offence.

Maybe those are old fashioned manners and out of date in the modern internet era...

Compared however with the appalling behaviour of many visitors to this board e.g. the multitude of Saints fans and others posting nonsense on the Reardon thread (and frankly many of those posts display an attitude towards the seriousness of domestic violence which many people would find very offensive) then I think I'll settle for old fashioned manners...

In all fairness i sometimes post on other clubs forums and form what I've seen we have our fair share of complete turds in the way they behave to each other as well as towards other fans.

And you have never, ever posted to one of the other RLFANS boards? And you ONLY discuss Wigan on C&W? You have never mentioned another club by name EVER?

Also, the fans from other clubs who are similarly discussing Wigan. Why else would they come here?

I'm resisting to urge to check the database and your posting history.

Perhaps if you posted there more often (along with fans from this and other club boards) it would be used for such. As things stand traffic is low and so fans come here.

It seems like you have more of a problem with C&W and its moderation threshold than opposing fans.

You appear to be ignoring the Wigan fans on C&W who enjoy a bit of banter with opposition fans. Not quite as "win-win" as it seems.

There is, of course, nothing stopping you from setting up your own site and board to discuss Wigan and only Wigan. We'll even give you a link.

good point........there are too many biased mods on other fan sites for one to feel comfortable with.
i have seen it first hand where a stains fan was systematically abused by certain fans of a club and when he responded the mods sided with the home mob, although imo they were posting more offensive stuff than the stains fan.
i have also been on the recieving end on another site ( i rarely visit other sites btw, unless im drawn into an argument)
i know leeds fans have been banned by bradford and stains, and there are probably dozens of incidents i dont know about.

on here our mods are a lot more tolerable with away fans than on some other forums, so think yourselves lucky.

but whilst i would prefer you to stay away, i dont mind a post match, or pre match bit of banter.
but when it comes to discussing players off field activities i feel you should leave that alone.

im not perfect and have had my share of friendly warnings, but im sick of folk coming on here to defend the indefensible , and its got tedious as i pointed out before.

lets leave it for the judge, then we can all have another debate on how they got too long, or got off , depending how it goes.

there already is one, but i cant advertise it.

i'll just say that the ones who use it do so because they find rlfans a big clique with a few dictating matters for others.

i would like to point out that i dont hold that opnion myself and only use that forum when rlfans is down.
