Yeah. It saved us from relegation - or went some way towards that. Too many people forget that Fielden's vital early form for Wigan was pretty good. In his first match against Wire he was awesome.

It has to be said though - I can't think of a more rapid decline of a player in any sport than Stuart Fielden in the last 2-3 years. To go from that monster of a player we saw in his debut to what he is now is nothing short of baffling to me.

So Brian Noble gets caught short just before the press conference, and due to the curry he had the previous night, never makes it.

This is taken as an indicator that not only are we signing "a player", but also tells the assembled journo's exactly which one.

I'm sorry, but Nobby could have been anywhere during that press conference.

As usual for me - Annonuce it and unveil him and get him on the field for his first match in our colours, and then I'll believe it.

tbh, it's probably saved Fielden the embarrassment of getting beaten by Part Timers for 80 minutes.

He's got a terrible voice.

He used to be one of the bigger players but big players are emerging at every club. He may have gone back a bit but I think the opposition has improved so he is less effective.

All Fielden needs is to knock someone sparko..get his confidence in himself back.
