He isn't world class by any means but if he's cheap and he puts pressure on Fielden, Feka and Co and we can afford it then why not.
Like i say they if he got signed to be a front line player for us we're well and truely on the scrap heap...................we'll have fallen further then i ever imagined.
I know every signing can't be world class but in O'Carroll, Prescott and Coley we've already got players better than Griffin!!! There is no point in signing him
We aren't trying to sign 10 or 15 world class players we only need 2.
We have the wages to do it and nothing will do apart from two top players for next season imo.
I've been IL staunchest supporter but if he fails to deliver a top class prop and a top class HB in the pre season he will have lost one of his major dwindling fans.
NO IF’S OR BUTS ABOUT IT IL YOU ARE THE CHAIRMAN OF WIGAN RL. THE MOST FAMOUS CLUB IN THE WORLD AND WE NEED PLAYERS WHO FIT OUT BILLING.
3 World Club Challenges 19 League Titles 17 Challenge Cup wins ONE CLUB WIGAN RLFC

I'd rather keep Coley then sign Griffin aswell but i don't believe theres much between them. Either would do me but only as 4th choice prop.
I like everybody else knows that we need a top draw halfback and prop but with Hock now being out of the picture we probably need another forward aswell.
I just don't see us getting 3 world class players in because i don't believe theres 3 world class players available at the moment.
If we can get the 2 we really need and a couple of squad players maybe a new coach could get the best out of them.

The Hock situation could present a silver lining in that we can give players like Mossop & Farrell more game time and free up cap space for a world class half back & prop.
I think Farrell has the potential to be better than Hock, and has the advantage of having a brain as well. Just a shame he's ginger and that his chance could come because of this.

We could do with some gingerness about the place again............things used to be so much better with a few ginger tops in the team

True but you still must admit its disapointing to lose such a good player, we could see something good from it though, or are we clutching at straws?
Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good - sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league - Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate - the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever - Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go - Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know - FIOS

Of course it's a blow, but we have been wondering for a long time whether it was going to be another Briscoe type situation, where there was a top class player unable to break into the first team because the position was already filled with strong players.
At the end of the day we have to look past this, and I see the opportunity to allow Flanagan and Farrell some first team action a good thing, ignoring the way that the opportunity arose.

The oppurtunity is sitting there for the likes of Flanagan/Mossop/Farrell to cement their place in the first team. Whoever actually is the Head Coach at Wigan now has a very difficult decision to make regarding those players IMO.

Under Nobles safety first regime he ranks the oldest as the best so Flanagan would get first crack followed by Mossop and then Farrell but from what little i've seen of them it should be the opposite way round.
Liam Farrell should get any opportunites that come up this season and then next year he should be first in the pecking order out of those 3 with Mossop 2nd in line and Flanagan bringing up the rear.
