He did it again at some point last season too didn't he? Was it Leeds in the playoff?

I think I remember him saying in an interview it was more of a mental thing - a bit like skullcap. But I might be wrong. I think you can definitely trace his drop off in form to that injury.

Leaving his biscuit elbows aside, he looks like he’s continued to work hard on his fitness going off the pictures. He looks more slight than last year and hopefully that will stand him in good stead in his comeback. He was blowing hard last year when he came back in to the side and got caught out for that winning try for Saints at Magic.

Doesn't make sense to me - you could play one of Cust and Hampshire from the start and one off the bench if you needed to split the work.

It’s amazing people are clamouring for Rocky to start, or even play but I am one of them. I just don’t believe the Cust/Smith partnership works, far too similar a player. It reminds me of the Widdop/Williams partnership at Warrington in many ways.

Shorrocks has done alright but he’s not a half - I don’t even know what his best position is. The game at Hull exposed our lack of creativity and organisation in the halves and I’m not too sure we can bank the Saints/Warrington games as major plus points for our halves as each and every player 1 to 17 played out of their skin in both games. When we have an off day, like we did at Hull, we become exposed in the halves and resort to one up rugby and rubbish offloads.

I don’t think Shorrocks deserves to be dropped to 18th man but at the same time he doesn’t warrant a starting berth in the halves either. I just don’t see the logic in it personally but in Peet we trust and let’s hope we’re all proved wrong come 10pm.

I can only guess that due to Mago being the only prop on the bench, that the plan is to move Smithies into the front row and switch Shorrocks to 13 when Byrne or Havard need a breather.

Yeah it isn’t pretty but to be fair this Leeds side is absolutely terrible. We’ve not had to even think about moving into 2nd gear
