I like Mathers as a bloke but not as a player but his enthusiasm was not matched by anyone in our team in the last 2 years. In games that were dead he would still be trying to pump everyone up. If he had the ability he is exactly the sort of player you want in your team, I hear he was one of the best in training as well.

Good luck to him.

Mathers to score the winning try for Wire in the challenge cup final vs Saints, you heard it here first

Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

Lol at these comments glad to see the back of him

Now we have a good back line lets give our forwards a few more weetabix and we have cracked it :)
Great game of rugby league. Fantastic atmosphere, Wigan were breathtaking and dominant in all areas for the first 25 minutes, coupled with us making alot of dumb mistakes, then fortunately they brought McIlorum on which helped us back into the game. I thought some of the tries we scored to get us within two we're out of this world stuff. Towards the end we had to force it a little and we had a few things go wrong, i.e Monas kick on the first for King and Solomona going off who was causing havoc. Wigan were clinical in their eventual execution of us. Proud of Wire today and gave us a little glimpse to the future. Silverwood was awful as per, but I expect no less. Tomkins is a world class player and by far the best english player in SL. Wigan are a champion side and would be a worthy winner of taking our title as challenge cup. Good luck over the next month and a bit.
Funny that. Were you wearing a Wigan shirt at the time?

Seemed a nice guy off the pitch, but I feel he was knackered when he came to us, just like Withers was.
But I also feel the lad couldn't handle the pressure playing for us. Prehaps he will be better suited playing for a small club like Warrington.

Please stop being civilised and reasonable, it's not befitting of a Warrington fan.

Good luck Richie, shame it didn't work at Wigan; hope you are as bad against us as you were for us :)

Conroy - Being a Latics fan i'm already immune to watching sh*te.

Sally Cinnamon - Treat the Saints forum as you would if you met a girl from St Helens. Best policy would be to avoid altogether but if you absolutely can't resist temptation then take every possible precaution.

I wish him all the best. When he played the Widnes friendly at the beginning of last season, he scored two tries and the Wigan fans clapped and sung him off the pitch. He was always going to struggle at Wigan, being compared to the greatest full back seen in RL since....erm....whenever. True, he didn't endear himself with his playing standards and quality, but I don't think his commitment was ever in doubt.
It will be interesting to see how he gets on with Matt King though....

Dan Sarginson: "This is a fantastic opportunity for me to join the biggest name in the competition" 18/10/2013

Tony Clubb: "This is a new exciting chapter of my life signing for Wigan and I couldn't be happier" 18/10/2013

Romain Navarrete: “I’m very happy to have signed for Wigan Warriors. As soon I knew that Wigan were interested, they were the only team that I wanted to sign for. To me, Wigan is the biggest Club in Rugby League and it will be an honour to pull on the famous Cherry-and-White jersey next year. I look forward to working with Shaun Wane and the players at Wigan.”

Good ridance i say. Personally never met him and i am glad he is a nice lad etc but i am over the moon to see the back of him.

I never rated him he always looked scared even when playing in a dominant Leeds side much like Hodgson. I hope he can recapture his form of old but personally do not think that is very much to get excited about.

I do hope he can produce the standard of performance we have come to expect next time ww play Wire.

Unofficially the most boring poster on Cherry and White.

Good luck to him. I can see him doing far better at Warrington, with a quality coach behind him, and I think it is just what he needed.
