Yes he captained England at junior level in RU as well as captaining GB at junior level in RL.
However are you suggesting RU isn't a foreign code to him because he played the game before he signed for Wigan aged 17 and so his knowledge of RU from about 25 years ago is relevant to his current job in RU?
If so I am sure his RL knowledge picked up about the same time would make the transition back again seamless

How do you know this? Have you spoken to him/offered the job?

Why? When exactly would be a good time? If we were doing well we wouldn't need him. With the resources at his disposal and his ability i'm guessing it would be a great time.

Sorry mate that's complete and utter bollards.
WE WON IT AT WEMBLEY - AND THEN AGAIN AT WEMBLEY - AND THEN AGAIN AT WEMBLEY - AND THEN AGAIN AT WEMBLEY - AND THEN AGAIN AT WEMBLEY - AND THEN AGAIN AT WEMBLEY - AND THEN AGAIN AT WEMBLEY - AND THEN AGAIN AT WEMBLEY - EIGHT TIMES - WE WON IT EIGHT TIMES - (IN A ROW!)

I'm not suggesting anything, I was asking a question that I already knew the answer to. I certainly wasn't suggesting Edwards would be the right choice at this moment in time to take over from Nobby if it came to it. A successful transition like that is too simplistic. I don't doubt that Edwards has ever stopped studying other sports, RU included, just as I'm certain he's never stopped studying the changes in RL since his departure. The basic structure of both games hasn't actually changed over the years, the execution has but the basic structure hasn't and I'm sure he'd bring along certain aspects that may improve an RL team just as he seems to have done in his time in RU with what he learned in RL. Now's not his time.
